On the afternoon of April 14, the unveiling ceremony of the Social Practice and Labor Education Base of Handan No. 1 Middle School in conjunction with Hebei Yongyang Special Steel Group Co., Ltd. was held in the conference hall.
Du Xiaofang, General Manager of Yongyang Special Steel Group, and Xiao Bo, Secretary of the Party Committee of Handan No. 1 Middle School jointly unveiled the base. Yang Bin, deputy general manager, Dai Ziwei, director of the Enterprise Management Department, Niu Xiangyan, director of the College Entrance Examination Research Office of Handan No. 1 High School, Dong Yihui, director of the Education Department, and more than 200 teachers and students attended the activity.
Secretary Xiao Bo made a speech at the unveiling ceremony. First of all, he expressed his heartfelt thanks to Yongyang Special Steel for its long-term support to the educational cause of No. 1 Middle School, and spoke highly of the elaborate design and full preparation of this event. He said that the establishment of the base aims to carry forward the glorious tradition of the Chinese nation's love of labor, so that students can combine social practice and labor education while learning book knowledge to exercise their physical and mental health, improve their character, cultivate students' love of labor and respect for others' labor achievements, and enhance their sense of responsibility for serving the people and contributing to society. Through field visits, students can understand the hardships of entrepreneurship and the responsibility of repaying the society, establish the lofty ideal of building their hometown and serving the motherland, and strive to become the pillars of society.
In his speech, General Manager Du Xiaofang recalled his experience in his alma mater No. 1 Middle School, and said that the school spirit, school discipline, school motto, and the requirements of being a man, doing things, and doing knowledge of Handan No. 1 Middle School had deeply affected him and the students from generation to generation. He introduced the development status of Yongyang Special Steel and the business philosophy of the enterprise to teachers and students, and said that he would cooperate with the activities of his alma mater in the future, create convenient conditions for the social practice and labor education of his alma mater's younger brothers and sisters, and provide support and assistance for the development of his alma mater.
After the unveiling ceremony, teachers and students went to Yongyang Special Steel Industrial Park to observe. Automatic steel rolling production line, clean green factory, modern environmental control platform, these "new" things have aroused great curiosity of students. They ask questions from time to time and keep notes while walking.
In order to express our sincere welcome to the teachers and students of No. 1 Middle School, the company carefully prepared souvenirs and fresh fruits of the ecological park for all teachers and students, and the warm act was unanimously praised by the teachers and students.
Education is the future of the country and the nation. For more than 20 years, Yongyang Special Steel has spared no effort in education, with an accumulated investment of 17 million yuan to support the development of education. It has awarded college entrance examination awards to Yongnian No. 1 Middle School and Yongnian No. 2 Middle School for many consecutive years. Since 2019, it has supported the teacher award of Handan No. 1 Middle School every year, with an accumulated investment of 2.24 million yuan, to reward 182 college students in Duliugu Village who have been admitted to key universities.
The establishment of the social practice and labor education base will provide a broad learning platform for students, and explore a new model of in-depth cooperation between schools and enterprises and combination of theory and practice.
